Incident control vehicles need information on wind speed and direction at the point of an incident. Fires and explosions are often associated with dangerous chemical releases, in these instances it is vital to know the direction in which the release could travel especially if evacuation procedures are required. For these applications Gill have supplied the WindSonic anemometer mounted on top of the emergency response vehicle together with a display mounted inside of the vehicle. The picture shows a typical installation on the Hampshire fire Brigade Command Vehicle.
